EC 3.2 Hydrolases that hydrolyse glycosyl compaunds, Glycosylases

EC 3.2 subclass definition

The EC 3.2 subclass contains glycosylases, hydrolases that hydrolyse glycosyl compaunds, despite that some of glycosylases can also transfer glycosyl compaunds to other alcoholic acceptors, like oligo- and polysaccharides. Further classification is based on type of hydrolysed glycosyl compaunds.

Further classification of EC 3.2 subclass

This classification is based on type of hydrolysed glycosyl compaunds.
  • EC 3.2.1 - Hydrolysing O- and S-glycosyl compounds, glycosidases
  • EC 3.2.2 - Hydrolysing N-glycosyl compounds
  • EC 3.2.3 - Hydrolysing S-glycosyl compounds, obsolete, reclassified as EC 3.2.1
