EC 4.1 Carbon- carbon lyases

EC 4.1 subclass definition

The EC 4.1 subclass contains lyases that catalyze cleavage of carbon-carbon bonds. Further classification is based on carbon groups type that have been cleaved during the catalytic act.

Further classification of EC 4.1 subclass

This classification is based on carbon group type removed during cleavage.
  • EC 4.1.1 - Carboxy-Lyases (decarboxylases)
  • EC 4.1.2 - Aldehyde-Lyases (aldolases)
  • EC 4.1.3 - Oxo-Acid-Lyases (aldolases)
  • EC 4.1.99 - All other lyases acting on carbon-carbon bonds
