EC 1.12. Oxidoreductases that act on hydrogen

EC 1.12 subclass definition

The EC 1.12 subclass contains dehydrogenases that acts as a donor for the reduction of hydrogen (H+ to H2. Further classification is based on acceptors involved in catalysis, but the classification of this sublass should be revised in future.

Further classification of EC 1.12 subclass

This classification is based on acceptors involved in catalysis.
  • EC 1.12.1 - Acceptors are NAD+ or NADP+
  • EC 1.12.2 - Acceptor is cytochrome
  • EC 1.12.5 - Acceptor is quinone or similar compound
  • EC 1.12.7 - Acceptor is iron-sulphur protein
  • EC 1.12.98 - Other known acceptors
  • EC 1.12.99 - All other acceptors, also reserved for non classified enzymes
