EC 1.4. Dehydrogenases that act on CH- NH 2 group of donors

EC 1.4 subclass definition

The EC 1.4 subclass contains dehydrogenases that act on donors with CH-NH2 group (amino-acid dehydrogenases and the amine oxidases). The catalytic product imine in most cases is further hydrolysed into oxo-group and NH3 and is indicated in parentheses as deaminating. Further classification is based on acceptors involved in catalysis.

Further classification of EC 1.4 subclass

This classification is based on acceptors involved in catalysis.
  • EC 1.4.1 - Acceptors are NAD+ or NADP+
  • EC 1.4.2 - Acceptor is cytochrome
  • EC 1.4.3 - Acceptor is oxygen
  • EC 1.4.4 - Acceptor is disulfide
  • EC 1.4.7 - Acceptor is iron-sulfur protein
  • EC 1.4.99 - All other acceptors, also reserved for non classified enzymes
